The Armored Group (TAG), a leading worldwide provider of armored vehicles, has today launched its newest law enforcement & light military vehicle, the BATT UMG Pickup at the International Defence Exhibition & Conference (IDEX) UAE. The new vehicle, a variant of the already established BATT UMG Armored Personnel Carrier (APC), has been developed by the TAG Research and Development team in order to offer a vehicle with a higher payload capacity as well as weight savings on the base vehicle.

The standard specification BATT UMG Pickup, armored up to STANAG Level 2, can hold up to 4 fully geared officers (2+2 in individual seats) and is fitted with a Scissor Lift Gunner Stand to access the 360° Rotating Gun Turret. With a payload capacity of 4.5 tonnes, the vehicle can carry a large amount of equipment in the rear cargo hold.

Based on the Ford F550 chassis, the BATT UMG Pickup is a highly capable vehicle with steep approach and departure angles, off-road & on road capability and is designed to protect individuals in dangerous operational environments.

With the BATT UMG Pickup, TAG adds to its already comprehensive lineup of vehicles, some of which are on display at IDEX. Located in the UAE Pavilion at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), TAG has on display a VPAM VR7 Certified Toyota Land Cruiser 200, their rapidly deployable checkpoint solution – Guardroom, as well as a Riot Control specced BATT UMG and the smaller Terrier LT-79 APC.
