LAS VEGAS- Manny Pacquiao’s legendary career ended in MGM Grand Garden, after a tough fight with Timothy Bradley. There were rumors came out before the big fight starts, that it will be a finale for Pacquiao’s career, until he confirmed it himself but left the door open for a return.
“As of now, I am retired,” Pacquiao said. “I’m going to go home and think about it. I want to be with my family. I want to serve my people.”
The Filipinos Pride ‘Pacman’ has had better memories in the ring during his prime career, winning world titles in eight weight divisions that will guarantee himself a spot in the Boxing Hall of Fame.
All three judges scored 116-110 uphold by two knockdowns ‘Pacman’ won by unanimous decision over Bradley.
Pacquiao knocked down Bradley in the seventh and ninth rounds in which neither man was able to sustain much offense against each other. In seventh round, the knockdown appeared to be a slip but the punch landed. However, the knockdown in ninth round without a doubt put more damage to Bradley resulting him to move backward to the ropes.
The victory of Pacquiao proves that he dominates the series fight against Bradley, as he won the last two bouts after a lost in decision in 2012 fight.
Pacquaio landed 122 of 439 punches according to CompuBox, Bradley connects fewer punches on 99 of 302.
“Manny was strong in there,” Bradley said. “He was strong the entire fight. He was always very patient. I wasn’t professional enough to stay within myself and I walked into shots.”
Pacquiao’s power and speed were keys to win in any fight he encounters, enough to say that he can knockdown anyone hindering his way.
“I was looking for a knockout in every round,” Pacquiao said. “He’s a very tough fighter and very good counter puncher. Teddy Atlas (Bradley’s coach) made a difference because this was the best Timothy Bradley I faced in three fights.”
